Ask Miss Maggie

Miss Maggie Loves to Help Don't be shy, Ask Maggie!

Don’t tell her I said so, but Miss Maggie has been around the block a time or two! She has personally experienced many kinds of relationships…good and bad, including loss of a partner to death, sad but still mismatched, grown apart, and currently has been in a long term, satisfying, happy and supportive relationship!

Miss Maggie has also got an extensive romance and lovers library (no, not Harlequin Romance) and access to fellow counsellors in the field. Miss Maggie believes that truth is the most important element to a successful relationship. Be true to yourself and true to your partner and you will never go wrong. Having said that, Miss Maggie also knows that truth is sometimes the hardest thing to sort out, and to express effectively.

Communication is the next important element in Miss Maggie’s list of priorities. If you can find the truth and keep that truth in sight while you lovingly communicate with your partner you too can build a deep and lasting relationship. A very important part of communication is listening. Do you try to listen more than you talk?

Effective argument is another important area for Miss Maggie. There is no way to have a lasting relationship without ever arguing or disagreeing about something. The important thing is to argue effectively. Miss Maggie says, “try to keep emotion at bay, present the facts, and take the time to find out what the ‘root’ problem is”. Quite often when we argue we tell our partner what it is they are feeling or intending. The truth is that we can never really KNOW what another person is feeling or intending. We can only know what they have actually said or done and our feeling or intention.

And last but definitely not least, Miss Maggie loves true romance. Life is short and the romantic interludes we create add so much intensity to our time here on this planet it would just be a shame not to create as much romance in our lives as we can……So Ask Maggie and see if she doesn’t come up with some answers for you!
